An interview with Heather Bien, lifestyle content creator and writer, on how she creates her own Sunday Sanctuary. How do you create sanctuary in your life? Candles, of course! I practically have a candle library at home –– there's one in every room and an entire box full of favorite scents to pull out for special occasions and seasons. Even if I'm doing household chores, there's still something so calming and intentional about having a candle burning at all times. What are your favorite self-care products? I try to carve out at least one morning a week to dedicate to self-care. I'll put on my fluffiest robe, light a yummy candle, slather on a face mask, and make an elaborate coffee with espresso and frothed milk. Then, I put on a podcast and forget about responsibilities for an hour or so. On a day-to-day basis, my desk humidifier and a mug of hot tea are my ways to practice self-care even when I'm working hard. What are your favorite Sunday activities that prepare you for the week ahead? I keep my Sunday nights sacred –– no plans besides making an indulgent meal and relaxing on the sofa for a few hours with my husband. But, I like to plan something fun during the day to make the most of the weekend! I'll start off with a barre class, then go to breakfast at one of my favorite local shops before strolling through the market and seeing what the vendors are offering on that particular day. Of course, I wish I could say it's all leisure and play on Sunday, but I do often like to get ahead of laundry, cleaning, and the like. It's all about balance! Favorite L'or de Seraphine candle?Whenever I'm home there's a L'or de Seraphine candle burning. I love the intentional, indulgent feeling of a wonderful scent. Right now, I'm loving the woodsiness of Ares and the design!
