How do you create sanctuary in your life?
Hot vinyasa yoga is probably my favorite way to unwind. Sweating in a hot room, turning off my phone and the outside world, using the poses to feel my body work, and meditative breathing allow me to introspectively reflect and detach from the day to day stresses. Getting my nails done is also one of my favorite things to do to feel really good about myself and relax. There’s something about fun, shiny, long nails that makes me feel really confident! I also love listening to music! Getting cozy, lighting a candle, and turning on some of my fav alternative R&B jams is one of my ideal ways to create sanctuary in my life.
What are your favorite self-care products?
I’m obsessed with the Kiehl’s overnight face mask. You can’t go wrong with any face mask, but I love leaving this on overnight to really do its work and then wake up with fresh smooth healthy skin!
What are your favorite Sunday activities that prepare you for the week ahead?
I love to do hot vinyasa yoga to sweat out all the weekend toxins and mentally relax before the week ahead. I also like to spend some time at home cleaning while jamming out to music. It feels really good to start the week knowing I’ve organized my life at home. I usually like to treat myself to a delicious healthy smoothie after yoga from one of my favorite smoothie places in the city. During football season, I love cozying up with blankets and snacks and watching the game at home as I text my sports frustrations out with my Dad, and I love reading before bed to turn off my brain and destress. I’m reading a really beautiful book right now called The Great Believers by Rebecca Makkai.
What is your favorite L’or de Seraphine candle?
Varanasi is my absolute favorite! The warm toned scent makes me feel like I’m cozied up next to the fireplace infused with scents from the woods (without having to be outside!). And I love the deep cranberry and forest green pattern!
