An interview with Richelle Eva on how she creates her own Sunday Sanctuary. How do you create sanctuary in your life? Currently, I'm deep diving into my career, so I have a regimen to ensure I make time to charge my own battery. I drink a cup of mint & saffron tea everyday and use an infrared sauna twice a week to increase my cortisol. I frequently call my family because hearing their voices is my safe haven. I enjoy spending time with people I love, and I remind myself that we can best help others when we first help ourselves. What are your favorite self-care products? Oh this is tough. I have so many! When I was young, my mom (who is from India) used a kansa wand to massage my feet after a long day – so I still do this to myself. I love a good face mask, but my favorite is just throwing some manuka honey on my face and letting that sit for 30 minutes. What are your favorite Sunday activities that prepare you for the week ahead? I live on the Upper West Side in between the parts (Central and Riverside) so I start my Sunday by taking a morning walk through one of them to get some air and sunlight. I always try to find a new place to eat lunch on Sunday because during the week I find myself too busy for a proper lunch meal. I love living in New York because something new is always popping up, and I usually stumble upon new places on Sundays. I am a firm believer of the 8 hours of sleep to function rule, so by 9pm it's lights out for me. What is your favorite L’or de Seraphine candle? Varanasi. I love it.
