Valensole

The Valensole candle draws inspiration from the flowing fields of lavender in the French town of Valensole, where endless stretches of fragrant lavender create a meditative sense of calm.

The earthy aroma of eucalyptus mingles with the soothing scent of lavender to create a perfectly tranquil atmosphere. Infused with essential oils, and featuring notes of lavender, eucalyptus, and clary sage, No. 37 is both relaxing and grounding.

EAT

EARL GREY LAVENDER Madeleines

Madeleines flavored with Earl Grey tea and sweet notes of lavender, the perfect balance between comfort and elegance.

INGREDIENTS

2/3 cup + 2 tbsp granulated sugar

2 eggs + 1 yolk

1 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 tsp lavender extract paste

3/4 tsp baking powder

1 cup + 2 tbsp flour

3 Earl Grey tea bags

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup + 1 tbsp unsalted butter

2 tbsp heavy cream

DIRECTIONS

Melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter and set it aside to cool slightly. Add 2/3 cup of granulated sugar, 2 room temperature eggs and 1 egg yolk to a large bowl. Beat the eggs and sugar on high with an electric mixer for 8 minutes, or until the mixture is pale yellow and shiny. Next add in 1 tsp of vanilla and 1 1/2 tsp of lavender paste and mix just until combined. Cut open 3 Earl Grey tea bags and add the tea leaves to a food processor. Grind the tea to ensure no large leaves are left. In a small bowl sift together 1 cup of flour, 3/4 tsp of baking powder, 1/4 tsp of salt and the tea leaves. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the egg/sugar mixture until everything is combined. Pour in the cooled butter and 2 tbsp heavy cream and fold in just until combined. Don't over mix the batter. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Transfer the batter to a piping bag. Brush melted butter into each madeleine mold. Pipe about 1 1/2 tbsp of batter into each mold. Bake the madeleines for 12-14 minutes until they have domed.

PROVENCE DECOR

Without fresh flowers and indoor plants, the Provence style is impossible. Add some rose, lavender, or alfalfa to decorate your room. Many household objects, textiles, and interior colours represent the French love of flowers: embroidery in the form of plant ornaments, pretentious forging, resembling winding plant stems, even dishes decorated with plant images. The interior design of Provence is an impressive and unusual mix of florals, rough plastered walls, wood furniture, a vivid palette of colours, and ample decor.
